Peter Bakker
For the last 45 years, Peter Bakker has been able to build his expertise in the field of Education, initially in the public education sector as a school principal and administrator and, for the last fourteen years, as a senior executive of a private company managing international student campuses for a government university.
Some of Peter's professional achievements and qualities include;
- A management overview of the full range of business operations
- Communications skills relevant to the situation (being a people person)
- A practical approach toward developing business solutions and problem solving
- A depth of understanding of the needs of employees and clients
- The ability to work and operate as part of a whole
- Understanding the leadership requirements of management entities
- Understanding the need to interface and interact with wider networks and community
- Using experience to learn from the past while not resting on past management practices to dictate the future
- An ability to manage corporate operational requirements across multiple sites
- Facilitation of interaction between different departments (university based and corporate based) and bringing all their needs together to get an outcome
Outside the Educational Management Sector, Peter has also achieved as a Sports Administrat0r both in the wider public sector and within the local community. His achievements include:
- Formal recognition for 25 years of service educating and coaching women in sport (10 years spent as the coach of the Australian Women's Cricket Team).
- Local community coach and administrator.
- Involvement with some of Australia's leading sporting bodies such as the Cricket Australia, Victorian Primary School Sports Association and the Australian Sports Commission.
- Involvement in the education of over 10,000 children through a lengthy career in the public education sector.
- Work on local and community development projects as a committee member overseeing the development of a local sporting stadium.
- Attainment of a Bachelor of Education from Latrobe University.
